The Chief Sales Officer will be responsible for shaping a Sales Strategy and Team capable of delivering the 5 year, £50m EBITDA target across the SoHo, SME and Enterprise channels.
The preferred candidate will undertake the role of sales leader, interacting closely with the commercial and marketing teams to drive growth.
They will be expected to build the enterprise sales team, using a combination of internal existing talent alongside new recruits.
We currently envisage this to be a high-touch solutions-led team who will be based in the UK at the office the preferred candidate chooses to make their base (Birmingham or Manchester).
Given current levels of organic growth, this is not expected to be a wholesale re-development of the team but an improvement exercise.
Accountable for developing key growth sales strategies, tactics and action plans within respective budgets and the 5-year plan.
Capable of applying analysis to forecast sales performance and setting sales targets.


The preferred candidate will be able to assess the effectiveness of the current multi-channel sales initiatives against key metrics and implement change if necessary.
Responsible for developing a comprehensive talent management process that attracts, onboards, mentors and retains the best sales talent.
Able to develop and monitor sales incentives and targets that are closely connected to the overall business plan and strategy.
Work alongside the marketing team to develop a digital customer acquisition strategy, particularly for the SoHo business where customers typically exhibit ‘consumer-like’ behaviours.
Understand the value of the existing software platforms to partners and customers and become part of the development loop, providing key feedback from end-user stakeholders.
Help Identify and close any cultural gaps between departments and channel teams by developing common data and common goals.
It is critical that they build strong relationships with the other members of the executive team including marketing, commercial and finance.
This will likely involve them spending time in the Isle of Man as well as across the UK.


Demonstrable experience as head of sales in a similar industry, otherwise -a deep knowledge and experience of effective B2B multi-channel sales strategies. Preferably with a background in a partner-led sales organisation.
A track record in building and owning a strategic sales plan and building and developing a sales team. We expect the preferred candidate to have organic growth throughout their CV and can demonstrate an ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
Ideally, the preferred candidate will have experience of high-touch enterprise sales. Building this team, alongside optimizing the SoHo and SME channels is a key part of the growth strategy going forward.
We are not looking for individuals who have been institutionalized within a large, slow-moving sales organization.
High commercial awareness, alongside an ability to develop, understand and evaluate financial business cases/plans and modelling.
Experience of influencing and engagement with senior stakeholders at executive and C-Suite level.
