Brook Street is working on behalf of our client in Newtownards to recruit a new full time and permanent Warehouse Controller

The role will be responsible for supervising a team of warehouse personnel to ensure professional incoming goods, storage and despatch service. The role will proactively contribute to the delivery of departmental KPIs and objectives ensuring health & safety standards are maintained and all standard operating procedures are adhered to at all times.

Working in conjunction with other key operational teams to ensure smooth operation of the warehouse, the role will be responsible for planning and coordinating all daily functions.

Duties include:

Plan and co-ordinate all daily warehouse functions, organise all activities and assign tasks accordingly for staff.
Lead, manage and develop the team focusing on areas to include individual and team performance through 1-2-1 meetings and reviews, absence and disciplinary matters through effective communication and escalation where appropriate.
Management of the team rota (to include allocating of team holidays, management of any absence/overtime & organisation of training hours) to ensure operational objectives are delivered.
Manage stock control to include receipt, storage, retrieval and timely delivery of goods, shipment loading and transferring, document recording and accurate data entry into system.
Organising and ensuring accurate and periodic cycle counts and stock takes are carried out.
Work in conjunction with other key operational teams to ensure the warehouse operates smoothly at all times providing a seamless link between day and night operations.
Ensure performance standards are met in warehouse and strive for improvement and development of warehouse.

Criteria

Must be educated to GCSE level (including English and Math Grade C or above) or equivalent. While not essential, a qualification in Engineering or Health and Safety would be advantageous.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate previous experience within a supervisory role and/or in a manufacturing/ FMCG environment.

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge and experience in the use of warehouse management and business ERP systems. Warehouse experience within a food manufacturing environment would be considered desirable. Proficiency in the use of MS Office including Word and Excel will also be essential to this role.

It is essential that candidates have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in teams and build strong interdepartmental relationships. The role requires the successful candidate to be self-motivated, proactive and flexible in their approach with the ability to adapt to changing priorities. The candidate must be able to influence and motivate people, driving accuracy and efficiency through continuous improvement.

You will be expected to start late and finish late on a scheduled basis (most likely 1 to 2 days per
week). Flex across shifts.
