MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Key Qualifications:

  1. Chartered (or near Chartered) Civil Engineer, with relevant post graduate geotechnical/engineering geology qualification(s).
  2. Exceptions can be made for candidates with geological degrees that have an MSc/PhD in soil mechanics/geotechnical engineering and demonstrate sound numerical geotechnical experience.
  3. Substantial experience in major international assignments in various construction markets.
  4. "Hands-on" geotechnical design engineer with experience managing projects, budgets, and resources.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Lead and undertake assignments in the UK and overseas, supporting the delivery of high-quality outputs.
  2. "Hands-on" geotechnical design engineer capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  3. Act as assignment manager, overseeing technical delivery, commercial aspects, financial controls, planning, resourcing, and troubleshooting.
  4. Assist in providing appropriate resources for successful assignment delivery in the UK and overseas, maximizing fee income.
  5. Assist Market Sector Leader in sourcing and developing business opportunities, producing tenders, and building client relationships.
  6. Implement and adhere to company procedures in the management, delivery, and administration of services.
  7. Maintain strong relationships with other disciplines within the firm and promote cross-functional working.
  8. Embrace organizational change and influence others to modify behavior and attitudes as required.
  9. Observe and maintain Company Health and Safety Policy across all activities.
  10. Undertake other reasonable duties as requested.
KEY EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Chartered (or near Chartered) in a relevant discipline (ideally ICE).
  2. Civil engineering degree with a postgraduate qualification in a geotechnical or engineering geology related subject.
  3. Demonstrable international and site experience, predominantly in large-scale infrastructure projects.
  4. Capable "hands-on" geotechnical designer with detailed design experience.
  5. Strong knowledge of geotechnical and engineering geological processes and design.
  6. Extensive knowledge of Eurocodes and other relevant industry standards.
  7. Experience at Assignment Manager and Designer level with a proven record of managing and delivering assignments.
  8. Ability to build, maintain and develop relationships with key clients.
IT SKILLS

Competent user of 2D and 3D finite element analysis software (e.g. PLAXIS, Z-soil).
Proficient in other geotechnical software (Repute, Settle, WALLAP, etc.).
Excellent Microsoft Office Abilities (particularly Excel, C+++).
2-D and 3-D computer-aided design and computer-aided engineering (CAD and CAE) tools.
