Specialising in exceptional education and care for students aged 10-19 with complex needs, including Asperger's Syndrome, Autism, and more, the school is in search of a Level 1-2 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the academic and personal development of the students. You will provide essential support for their learning and well-being, helping each student reach their full potential in a nurturing and secure setting. Your role involves creating warm, supportive relationships with the pupils, fostering a safe and engaging learning environment. In collaboration with the class teacher, you will help deliver high-quality, challenging, and differentiated educational experiences, ensuring every student excels.
Assist in planning and evaluating learning activities.
Monitor, assess, record, and report on pupils' progress in line with school policies.
Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist where needed in the dynamic SEN environment.
Experience in an SEN role, either employed or voluntary.
Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle (essential for student carpooling on a rota basis).
Recognised Level 2 or higher qualification in Support Work for Teaching and Learning in Schools (desirable).
GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above (essential).
Knowledge of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
Experience with pupils with SEN or SEMH/ASD.
A child-first approach, recognising and responding to each student's individuality.

Successful applicants will undergo pre-employment safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check.
