A high-growth commodity trading house renowned for their dynamic and innovative approach to trading physical commodities are offering the opportunity for a Market Risk analyst to join their team in Gibraltar.

Position Overview: As a Market Risk Analyst, you will be a key player in managing the Profit and Loss (PnL) statements and closely liaising with the traders. You will bring your expertise in physical commodities to the forefront, ensuring effective risk management strategies are in place and contributing to the overall profitability and growth of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage the daily PnL for trading desks, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate market risks associated with physical commodities.
  • Liaise with traders to understand their positions, strategies, and market views, providing risk assessments and recommendations.
  • Conduct thorough market analysis to identify potential risks and opportunities within the commodity markets.
  • Prepare and present regular risk reports to senior management, highlighting key risk metrics and trends.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to enhance risk management systems and tools.
  • Stay up-to-date with market developments, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in market risk management within the physical commodities trading sector.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends.
  • Proficiency in risk management software and trading platforms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with traders and other stakeholders.

The role is hybrid (3 days in the Gibraltar office) with a salary range of £40-60k, flexible for the right candidate. Wider package includes bonus, pension, Bupa healthcare, etc along with a relocation package.
