Estimator – Interior Fit-Out Construction Contractor

· c£50k - £60K (Dependent on Relevant Experience)

· South Birmingham Area

The Client

My client is a dynamic and specialist interior fit-out contractor operating in a variety of sectors ranging from hotel, luxury residential, museum and exhibition sectors.

The Role

Reporting to the Estimating Director they have an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Level Estimator, with 3 to 5 years’ experience to take their career to the next stage. You’ll be given the opportunity to work on and submit tenders for prestigious and landmark projects throughout the UK and Overseas

Key Roles & Responsibilities of the Estimator role include:

· Set up cost plan for projects

· Produce take-offs and measure specific items

· Produce final compilation of tenders

· Issue tender packages to sub-contractors and suppliers, ensuring all the relevant information is provided.

· List tender enquiries

· Ensure sub-contractor quotations are received back by the specified date, set out by management.

· Arrange and attend site visits with sub-contractors

· Build relationships with architects and quantity surveyors

· Attend and contribute to client and internal meetings

· Identify areas where improvements in tender ratio can be achieved.

The Estimator:

· Ideally 2 – 5 years Estimating in either a construction main contractor or specialist interiors subcontractor

· Familiar with computers, i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

· Use the in house estimating package & internal contract controller system

· Must work on own initiative and part of the team.

· Must achieve relevant deadlines.

· Must have a good understanding of commercial issues relating to tenders and securing work.

· Must have a good understanding of designer’s specifications including building technology and materials.

· They should have excellent communication skills, high attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
