The Godolphin and Latymer School is one of the country’s leading independent day schools for girls, located on a six acre site in Hammersmith, London. Drama is a popular subject at the school and a fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and well-qualified Teacher of Drama to join us on a permanent and full time basis from September 2024

The post-holder will be required to teach Drama across the school, and should have experience of teaching GCSE and A level. The role will also include involvement in our extensive and extremely popular extra-curricular programme, including taking the lead on at least one of our four productions, performed in our fantastic Performing Arts Centre in collaboration with all other key departments. We take great pride in our extracurricular productions, especially the significant participation of students as both cast and crew members. Under the guidance of our skilled Performing Arts Technician, we cultivate a group of students proficient in technical theatre, diligently contributing their expertise behind the scenes to elevate the quality of our productions.

The salary will be commensurate with the post and will depend upon qualifications and experience.

Accommodation may be available for new staff in a local six-unit property.

All staff working in the School during the school day will have contact with children and will therefore be in regulated activity. As a teaching member of staff you will be working directly with, and be responsible for, the children that you teach. You are also likely to have contact with other pupils on a regular basis which may include specific pastoral or other responsibilities for pupils whom you do not teach.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
