We are currently recruiting for two Solicitors to join the Legal team following a recent restructure. The successful candidates shall ensure excellence in service to both internal and external customers by providing a high quality and comprehensive legal service for the Council and be able to manage a wide ranging caseload.

Each Solicitor post will have a defined remit of case work to undertake as well as providing support on other areas of law commensurate with duties of the role:

Solicitor 1 – Planning, Contracts, Commercial and Finance

Solicitor 2 – Property, Environmental Health, Licensing, Waste Management and Health and Safety
Prospective candidates are asked to confirm which of the two roles they wish to apply for within their application. The successful candidates will join an experienced, supportive and motivated team at an exciting time. With development work planned and progressing such as Transforming Nuneaton, Transforming Bedworth and Bedworth Physical Activity Hub.

Prospective candidates must have experience as a qualified solicitor or barrister within the remit of case work in the post applied for. Local government experience is desirable, but we welcome applications from people from all parts of the legal sector. We seek applications from enthusiastic and motivated people with good communication skills and an ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Local Government can be fast paced and varied therefore candidates must be able to tackle an array of matters providing legal support and advice to internal client departments, external organisations, Members and members of the public.

The successful candidates will assist in creating an open environment within the Service Unit where employees feel supported, involved and consulted.
