Nuclear Power is a fast paced, highly successful and growing operational business committed to working in partnership with our clients to contribute to the global need to achieve carbon net zero. We currently support projects and operations in the UK, France, South Africa and Poland.
This is an exciting opportunity for an Operational Commercial Manager to join a small, highly valued operational commercial team as part of a broader capability within Jacobs.
You will provide effective and compliant contracting support to the Nuclear Power business, to support in the delivery of the business plan, ensuring that work tendered and undertaken is on a sound commercial basis and in accordance with commercial policy to maximize profit to risk ratio.
The role is UK office based, reporting to the Nuclear Power Head of Commercial based in France, with a substantial degree of flexibility in office location. Some travel to other Jacobs’ or client’s offices, including France, is expected.
The role will provide commercial support to:

~ Pre-contract commercial activities – Ensuring accurate and timely preparation of contract review documentation for presentation to approvers, ensuring the commercial robustness of proposals including reviewing contracts (ROMs, offers, NDA, pre-teaming agreements, etc.) Post contract commercial management including building and updating Commercial Plans, sub-contracting, managing change and variations, and involvement in dispute resolution
~ Ensuring Commercial Governance (DOA) and providing commercial guidance to the business
~ Operational Reviews to assess the needs of the Business and Operational Teams for Commercial support.
~ Attending Green Reviews to ensure all risks are covered before submitting an offer.
~ Work hand-in-hand as business partner to the Legal team
~Bachelor’s degree and/or chartered status or equivalent
Experience in commercial/contract management with good understanding of:
Commercial Law
Contractual terms and conditions and other forms of commercial agreements
Good commercial judgment with the ability to understand, argue and negotiate conditions of contract.
