The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery is a major international centre for neuroscience training and research and is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Recovery Practitioner - Band 6 to work in Recovery Unit. We are seeking a person with good communication and organisational skills, willing to develop their knowledge and skills within Neurosurgery specialty and whose attitude to changing environments is positive and supportive.

Main duties of the job

Person Specification

Knowledqe & Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Nurse level 1, 2, or 12
  • Registered ODP with Dip HE, NVQ3, C& G 752
  • Teaching & Assessment Level 3, ENB Cert. ed., other relevant qualification or equivalent experience
  • Recognised Post Registration course in Theatre/ Recovery/ other relevant accredited relevant clinical experience within a theatre or Surgery environment

Experience

Essential

  • RGNs Relevant clinical experience at Band 5, or recent qualification in peri operative practice
  • ODPs Relevant clinical experience post qualification

Skills & Abilities (for AfC staff these should link to the KSF dimensions for the role), e.g.

Essential

  • Demonstrate evidence of professional development for self and others
  • Demonstrate understanding of audit, research and evidence based practice
  • Ability to manage a delegated area in the absence of the person in charge
  • Demonstrate commitment to act as facilitator/preceptor
