Reporting to the Head of Commercial Operations the Sales Operations Manager is a senior appointment responsible for delivering the global monthly vehicles sales target for the business, in line with McLaren Automotive’s commercial and financial policies and controls.
Design and development of the short, medium and long term strategic business roadmap for the vehicle sales operations function and commercial business processes to support McLaren Automotive’ s planned business growth
Provide leadership and manage a growing global team of Sales Support Managers through the day-to-day operations, ensuring excellent service is being delivered to our regional sales organisations, our global retailer network and customers, while ensuring 100% compliance with international commercial trading agreements
Responsible for delivering the global vehicle wholesale target, both monthly and quarterly, to meet the yearly financial imperatives of the business and commitment to our shareholders, while meeting our retailer and customer expectations in market
Lead cross-functional operations between Sales Operations, Production, McLaren Bespoke division, Pricing, Distribution, and Finance teams to deliver the vehicle revenue target, including management and resolution of any business-critical issues that risk preventing vehicle sales and revenue delivery.
Manage new model introduction into the global sales ordering and revenue recognition processes and systems in a highly- effective manner, troubleshooting and resolving issues without any disruption to the achievement of business imperatives, and guaranteeing delivery of commercial gateways within the McLaren Development Programme
Manage new retailer commercial and systems setup for vehicle sales and revenue recognition.
Work with the Finance team to monitor retailer financial credit lines and manage corresponding mitigation actions to resolve any potential negative impact to achieving the global wholesale target.
Business ownership and management of all supplier delivering services for the sales operations department, locally and overseas
Responsible for leading all new supplier tendering processes, including benchmarking, supplier selection and contract negotiations, to guarantee enhancement and continuous improvement of Sales Operations KPIs
Conduct regular supplier performance reviews with the Commercial and Finance departments to guarantee adherence to contractual agreements and quality of service. Lead change management of existing sales business processes and systems to ensure we are exceeding industry benchmarks and delivering to the highest level of our customer’s expectations.
Represent the global sales operations function within all business decision-making and steering committees, providing leadership and expertise in all related subjects, to guarantee operational direction and strategy are fit to meet the changing business needs and future.
University degree and/or master’s degree in business administration
Excellent management and knowledge of commercial drivers and business processes
Excellent operational vision, strategic thinking, and a passion for delivering a monthly sales target
Highly detailed technical understanding of automotive sales at a global level
Vast experience in international trading including price models, taxation and duty structures, intercompany and wholesale invoicing processes and policies.
Good level of knowledge of the McLaren Brand and Products
Extensive automotive operational experience at OEM level, including ideally a retailer-facing management role.
Experience of leading a team with different expertise and levels of experience, including those located overseas.
Experience of partnering with senior managers to produce and deliver against ambitious targets.
Excellent project management skills to deliver commercial business systems, with evidence of implementation and demonstrated ROI.
Excellent knowledge and management of commercial systems (SAP), data management, processes, and procedures
Focused, commercially astute with an ability to manage key business drivers.
An innate ability to understand management information and translate it into business opportunities.
A natural love for, and curiosity about, cars, the automotive marketplace, and the industry future trends
A willingness to find a balance between industry best practice and a pragmatic approach to find the McLaren Automotive way.
Highly credible, can act as an equal player and skilled influencer with key business stakeholders and ‘hold their own’ around the table.
A flexible approach to working hours, including weekends where required, to deliver moth end targets.
