This position focuses on teaching and learning in the medical undergraduate curriculum. 
A key responsibility of this position is to lead the BSMS mentor programme which involves registrars supporting 4 th year medical students. 
The post-holder will support all years of medical students in the personal and professional development (PPD) module, and on clinical placement appropriate to their specialty, as well as with other forms of teaching and supervision. One day per week will be spent with the Clinical Education for Allied Health Professions & Healthcare Sciences Teamat University Hospitals Sussex developing inter-professional education.
We expect that this post holder will lead a Student Selected Component within the undergraduate curriculum. 
The post holder will support the roll out of Sofia curriculum mapping software to the students. 
It is hoped that the post holder will undertake medical education research either focusing on a novel project or collaborating with existing projects in the group. There is also the opportunity to apply curriculum development theories in practice, for example decolonising the curriculum, mapping the curriculum or changing teaching methods in particular areas.
The department would offer the postholder the opportunity to complete three funded, postgraduate modules or equivalent towards a postgraduate qualification in education as part of these roles.
