Your new role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Portfolio Lead, to join our growing Digital Services directorate in Birmingham.

As aPortfolioLead within the Business Partnering Team, youll be accountable for strategic planning, overseeingthe co-development anddelivery of Strategic Roadmaps and building out a demand pipeline for the consumption of Digital Services. In addition, you will support the Business Partner across a number of cross cutting change initiatives. In other Organisations this role is known as a Lead Business Relationship Manager or Senior Business Relationship Manager

What youll be leading on

  • Lead strategic planning activities across key business directorates including the development and management of the Strategic Roadmap.
  • Oversee Demand Management and the collation of business needs to align to core service offerings and work with solutioning leads to identify the creation of new services.
  • Work across Digital Service teams including Strategy, Governance, Programme Delivery and Service Operation functions to manage resource requirements, mobilisation of projects, identifying and actively managing portfolio risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Track and report financial spend identifying and escalating any variations to budget within the portfolio, and support the wider DS Directorates forecasting and business planning activities including Directorate Consumption Management activities.
  • Management of Relationship Managers through providing visibility of portfolio priorities, pipeline, resource allocation and workload management, optimise the teams performance and delivery.
  • Champion the voice of the business to lead the prioritisation of demand, communicate effectively across organisational, technical, and political boundaries, understanding the context, successfully react and respond to challenge.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships, whilst managing their expectations and facilitating discussions about risk and complexity within constrained timescales.

To be successful you'll need

  • Degree qualified, preferably in a Technology, Engineering or Mathematic subject, or holds a certified accreditation project or programme management qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong stakeholder management or business facing experience where you have acted as the primary POC, preferably in a Digital Capacity; Digital Design and Construction Services, and Asset Lifecycle Management.
  • Experience in supporting preparation of annual business planning cycle and forecasting with strong business, and financial acumen with experience of supporting budget management and planning.
  • Significant experience of developing technology roadmaps and aligning delivery with business strategies.
  • Experience of managing a portfolio of services / demand pipeline aligned to a specific line of service and of managing teams and resources in complex environments with high safety standards.
  • Experience or awareness of understanding how large Capital Delivery / infrastructure organisations operate and the needs of Digital Services in construction and operations environments, would be advantageous.
