Assistant Coach

The candidate/s will join an innovative and developing Community Trust and work closely alongside the football club to deliver community focused initiatives, projects and programmes non-match days, match days and in our popular holiday camps. Reporting to Project co-ordinators, the successful candidate/s will be responsible for assisting high-quality delivery.
If you are prepared to help grow existing delivery and contribute to successfully commissioning projects, there will be plenty of opportunities to progress in this role. You will be fully supported in your continued professional development.
As an assistant casual Community Coach, you will be key to the success and growth of the Community Trust, allowing the charity to expand operations and to continue to deliver high quality sessions.
New coaches will be accountable for the welfare of children and vulnerable adults under their responsibility, in line with the Trust’s Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adult Policies.
We also expect individuals to embrace equality, diversity, and inclusivity to facilitate a consistent, co-ordinated, and embedded approach to fairness and opportunity across the Trust.
Minimum of a Level 1 football coaching badge
Experience of working or volunteering within either school, club, or community sporting settings
Ability to support the planning, delivering & evaluation coaching sessions Good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
Ability to work within a team effectively & efficiently and buy-in to the environmental ethos Computer Literate
Experience of working in a charity or community organisation
Knowledge and understanding of the charity, voluntary and community sector
Founded in 1889, Forest Green Rovers is a football club with a rich history, but we are always working to be at the forefront of something new. FIFA have described us as the greenest football club in the world, it is certainly true that no other football club in the world has put the environment at the heart of what it does, and embedded into it’s DNA like we have.
We’re the only club in the world to have EMAS accreditation – the gold standard of environmental management – and we’re the first and only vegan football club in the world. Our aim is to be in the Championship within the next five years – and we’re planning to build a stadium to match those ambitions, too, it has been designed by Zaha Hadid, and would be the only stadium in the world made entirely of wood.
As a valued member of the team you will be supporting the Group Environmental policy and its associated targets to make the Green Britain Group net carbon neutral by 2025
