As well as supporting the management of Environmental Permits, including initial application, variation application, and periodic reporting requirements as defined in these permits. Working remotely, in a number of virtual teams, will necessitate the post holder being a self-starter, reliant, and able to communicate and champion a vital element of the Agency’s culture. • Support Operations to collate, co-ordinate and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements in accordance with the PPC permits.
  • Coordinate the preparation, submission and/or surrender of Regulatory permits.
  • Work with Operations to ensure compliance monitoring requirements, such as borehole monitoring are met.
Knowledge and required skills:
  • Knowledge and experience in compliance with regulatory requirements in such matters as land, water, waste water treatment processes and Hazardous & Non-Hazardous Materials
  • Understanding and application of the requirements of PSLG
  • Skilled in technical report analysis and writing with experience of auditing.
  • Vocational qualifications within core or related professional competences, that ideally include Environmental Management Systems, and Risk Management, with knowledge to manage and improve the OPA’s Environmental Management System in accordance with ISO 14001.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
The candidate: Candidates must hold a relevant BS degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or Chemical / Process or Mechanical Engineering, with relevant experience in a regulatory, environmental, consulting, or industrial setting in an Environmental or Engineering role. You will need to be experienced in all aspects of environmental management, with an in-depth understanding of the regulatory aspects of MATTEs/MAHs, as these relate to tank storage operations, COMAH regulatory requirements, and permitting requirements, and must possess a working knowledge of CDOIF Environmental Risk Assessments. Trainer experience with a trainer qualification is desirable, and any experience in relation to BREEAM compliance, would be advantageous. It is preferable that the successful candidate will live within reasonable commuting distance of an OPA site, or be prepared to travel as required to satisfy work commitments
