About the role

Do you know what good Social Care practice looks like? Are you interested in showcasing good practice and helping colleagues to do their best work? Do you want the chance to make a difference to the way services are delivered to improve outcomes for children, young people and their families? We’d love to hear from you.

As a Quality Assurance Officer you will have the opportunity to work across all of Cambridgeshire County Council’s Children’s Services, including Targeted Support, Youth Justice and SEND. You will be part of a small team that has a strong emphasis on social care values and practice standards.

Interviews to be held in person at New Shire Hall, in Alconbury Weald, on Monday 16 December 2024.

The role is currently based at The Buttsgrove Centre in Huntingdon however please note the Council is currently undergoing an accommodation improvement programme that will result in some office moves over the next 12-18 months, and this team will operate from a different location within the County. In most cases the new location will be close to the current one, but the Recruiting Manager will discuss this with you if you are selected for interview.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

About you

Ideally, you are a Social Worker who is registered with Social Work England. But if you have a degree (or equivalent) in a related field, or extensive experience in social care or youth justice, we’d love to hear from you too

You are professionally curious and want to understand why something has happened, what the impact might be and how we could improve it.

You can be flexible with changing demands and are creative in your approaches to meeting work challenges.
