LABORATORY TECHNICIAN – BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES
Permanent Full Time Position. As a Laboratory Technician at Oxford Product Design you will play a vital role in advancing our research and development endeavours in the field of biological science. This role will be responsible for conducting experiments, maintaining lab equipment and assisting in data collection and analysis.

We are in search of a skilled Laboratory Technician with a background in biological science or a related discipline. The ideal candidate should thrive within a laboratory environment, exhibit keen attention to detail, and be proficient in working both independently and autonomously.
This role is open to a range of candidates, including recent graduates, junior technicians, and mid-level professionals, with salary offerings tailored to individual levels of experience and expertise.

Prepare and execute experiments related to biological sample analysis and processing, following guidance from senior consultants
Maintain and operate laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to stringent safety protocols
Collaborate in the collection, organization, and analysis of experimental data, contributing valuable insights to live client and internal projects
Participate in the refinement and enhancement of laboratory protocols and procedures
Effectively communicate observations and findings with colleagues and research team members

Bachelor's degree in Biological Science, Biochemistry, or a related field
Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques and equipment relevant to biological research
Adeptness at working autonomously and efficiently in a fast-paced laboratory setting
Prior exposure to laboratory environments through academic initiatives, internships, or related employment

You can purchase another 5 days of holiday a year, spread across 12 months, or sell back holiday at any point. After 3 years of working at OPD you can apply for an unpaid sabbatical of up to 3 months, increasing to 6 months after 6 years.

You’ll be allocated ten days of training per year, with a training budget of up to 5% of your annual salary. We’re a member of the cycle to work scheme which allows you to purchase a bike and related accessories tax free, we offer season ticket loans and have an Employee Assistance Programme for you and your family. And if you’re in the office on a Thursday, we’ll buy lunch for you
