JOB PURPOSE

As a Laboratory Technician at Oxford Product Design you will play a vital role in advancing our research and development endeavours in the field of biological science. This role will be responsible for conducting experiments, maintaining lab equipment and assisting in data collection and analysis.


ABOUT YOU

We are in search of a skilled Laboratory Technician with a background in biological science or a related discipline. The ideal candidate should thrive within a laboratory environment, exhibit keen attention to detail, and be proficient in working both independently and autonomously.

This role is open to a range of candidates, including recent graduates, junior technicians, and mid-level professionals, with salary offerings tailored to individual levels of experience and expertise.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and execute experiments related to biological sample analysis and processing, following guidance from senior consultants
  • Maintain and operate laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to stringent safety protocols
  • Collaborate in the collection, organization, and analysis of experimental data, contributing valuable insights to live client and internal projects
  • Participate in the refinement and enhancement of laboratory protocols and procedures
  • Effectively communicate observations and findings with colleagues and research team members


ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Science, Biochemistry, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques and equipment relevant to biological research
  • Exceptional organizational skills and unwavering attention to detail
  • Adeptness at working autonomously and efficiently in a fast-paced laboratory setting
  • Strong communication abilities, facilitating effective collaboration within interdisciplinary teams
  • Prior exposure to laboratory environments through academic initiatives, internships, or related employment

We are based in a beautiful historic barn in Harwell, Oxfordshire. There is plenty of on-site parking and the studio is well connected by bus and rail links.
