Job Description
Wet Etching Engineer
The semiconductor startup is seeking an experienced Wet Etching Engineer to join their R&D team. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for developing and optimizing wet etching processes for cutting-edge semiconductor devices.
Responsibilities
Design and develop wet etching processes for various semiconductor materials (e.g., silicon, compound semiconductors, metals)
Characterize and analyze etched surfaces using techniques such as SEM, AFM, and surface profilometry
Optimize etch rates, selectivity, uniformity, and anisotropy of wet etching processes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (process integration, device engineers, etc.) to integrate wet etching processes into overall device fabrication flows
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to wet etching processes
Maintain detailed documentation of process flows, experimental data, and results
Stay up-to-date with the latest wet etching techniques and industry trends
Requirements
~ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
~3+ years of experience in wet etching processes for semiconductor manufacturing
~ Strong understanding of wet chemical processes, etch chemistries, and reaction kinetics
~ Hands-on experience with wet benches, etch tools, and analytical characterization techniques
~ Excellent problem-solving, data analysis, and troubleshooting skills
~ Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
~ Attention to detail and commitment to following safety protocols

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with compound semiconductor materials (e.g., GaN, SiC, GaAs)
Knowledge of clean room protocols and operations
Familiarity with design of experiments (DOE) and statistical process control (SPC)
Experience with process integration and device fabrication flows
