Senior Marketing Manager

Main purpose of the role:
Taking ownership of the department while working closely with company Directors, you will head up the marketing activities for the Rocket brands; Rocket Food events and Pocket Rocket. From managing the department budget to overseeing the content strategy across social media and the websites, this is an important role within the business ensuring that the best of Rocket is on show for clients and customers to see at all times, while driving sales and business leads. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will also manage and collaborate with the Social Media & Content Manager to drive forward the activities of Rocket’s marketing department.

Included in Tatler’s 2022 Wedding Guide as the “luxury caterer replied upon by the great and glamorous of London”, we are accredited at over 45 of the most prestigious venues from the V&A to the Natural History Museum and for the past 24 years have been the go-to caterer for luxury events. Under the Rocket umbrella we also have Formula 1 contracts, the high-end canapé delivery service, Pocket Rocket, and our new office catering service, Made by Rocket.
About you:
We are seeking someone with a real eye for detail, a passion for communicating our brands, with lots of creativity and a love of exceptional food. A head for business and sales is crucial, and a broad range of experience across B2B and B2C marketing is preferred as the audiences for our brands are varied and the marketing goals for each brand reflects this. You should have experience managing others and the willingness to take the initiative in a busy and fun department.

Experience as an in-house marketing professional and impeccable English is required. Experience with Canva and/or other graphic design software is essential. Experience with WordPress, HubSpot, and Google Ads is preferred. Ideally, the applicant will have experience working with video content, particularly for social media platforms, and an interest in hospitality and sustainability.
Key responsibilities:
- Implement the marketing strategies, changing strategic direction when required
- Oversee content plans and campaigns for two brands
- Manage marketing budget and spending
- Oversee digital content and ensure high standards of written/visual content are always met across websites, email and social
- Project management (new websites, brand identity, and developments etc.)
- Email communications oversight and strategies
- Writing newsletters and articles
- Brand development and maintenance
- Management of external contractors; ads consultancy, PR, website developers, and designers
- Manage and develop the Social Media & Content Manager
- Google Ads strategy and budget management
- Attend Rocket and Pocket Rocket events/filming/photoshoots where appropriate
- Content creation and copywriting
- Project manage seasonal gifting campaigns
- Contribute to tenders on behalf of marketing and sustainability
- Support the sales team with proposals and other graphic design documents
- Manage and lead internal marketing activities such as social events and Earth & Wellness month activities
- Quarterly reporting to Leadership
- Co-Chair Rocket’s Sustainability Committee, responsible for sustainability communications on behalf of Rocket
The ideal candidate will begin the handover process in late July/early August.
