The Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT) is a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) of mental health professionals providing a 24-hour, 7 day per week service to people experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis. The team provides an alternative to acute hospital admission by delivering intensive community-based interventions. Where a hospital admission does occur, the CRHTT will assist in shortening the inpatient stay by facilitating early discharge and support back to the community. The post holder will develop and lead the psychology offer within the team, ensuring all care is delivered in a trauma informed care and recovery oriented way. They will contribute to the assessment of patient needs and be responsible for psychological formulation and care planning as well as the delivery of psychological interventions. They will also offer training, supervision and consultation to the team and other professionals. As part of the senior leadership in the team the post holder will be expected to be part of service development, innovation, the accreditation process and liaison with other parts of the system.

Training and Qualifications
Doctoral level training in clinical psychology or its equivalent, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS.
Eligibility for: - registration with the Health and Social Care Professions Council as an Applied Psychologist

Post-Doctoral training in clinical approaches relevant to work with complex and severe mental health difficulties such a 3rd wave cognitive behavioural therapies or systemic work.
Pre-qualification training and qualifications in health or neuro psychology, research methodology, staff training and/or other fields of applied psychology.
Significant post qualification experience of working in mental health settings, including specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and in patient settings, adult and older adult.
Post qualification experience of working with adults affected by psychological trauma.
Experience of working in acute mental health inpatient or crisis settings, working with a range of age ranges, cultures and clinical groups.


Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups.
