Avalanche Studios Group is hiring a Render Programmer for our central technology organization, Central Tech. Central Tech is our core technology team and we innovate in areas that push the boundaries for what open-world sandbox gaming means as well as improve, optimize and support our existing core technology. In this role, you will work side by side with seasoned professionals with years of experience in developing our proprietary engine and runtime systems. Together, we will design solutions and elevate our engine to new heights. As a render programmer at Central Tech you will work with multiple teams including engine, art, and tech art in developing the render technology for our open-world engine, Apex. You will work with writing performance critical code to feed the GPU. You will oversee the architecture of the rendering part of the engine and you should have a strong sense for developing simple, robust, and performant systems. In addition to outstanding technical knowledge, we are looking for a self-motivated individual with strong communication and collaboration skills.


What you’ll do

  • Collaborate closely with cross-disciplinary game project teams, ranging from art to systems
  • Responsible for translating project goals into technical goals for the team
  • Developing render technology and features that will be used across different platforms and projects
  • Oversee the architecture of the rendering technology in the engine
  • Identify and resolve graphics-related issues.Profile and optimize code to deliver the best possible gaming experience
  • Stay informed: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in graphics development. Keep the team informed about emerging best practices and tools

Who you are
  • Have at least 3 years of experience in the game industry
  • Fluent in C/C++ programming
  • Well versed in modern 3D graphics APIs
  • Excellent CPU/GPU performance analysis, optimisation, and debugging skills
  • Extensive background in 3D rendering
  • Experience in building graphics systems
