About the Role:
Help an organisation to adopt a wide range of analysis and synthesis techniques, and to continually assure, improve and innovate their practices to generate clear and valuable findings.
Responsibilities:
- Mediate between people and mend relationships, communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and moderate discussions about high risk and complexity, even within constrained timescales.
- Speak on behalf of and represent the community to large audiences inside and outside of government.
- Influence senior stakeholders in data approaches.
- Coach and mentor others.
- Set the strategy to enable your teams to produce effective and influential visualisations.

- Implement feedback gathering to support continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience of the application of IT and mathematical skills.
- Be a recognised specialist and adviser in these skills, including relating to user needs, generation of ideas, methods, tools, and leading or guiding others in best practice.
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience of the application of project management methodologies.
- Be a recognised specialist and adviser in project management, including user needs, generation of ideas, methods and tools, and leading or guiding others in best practice.
- Oversee projects within a data analytics team.
- Ensure data management and governance processes are in place and adhered to for the products and services your teams provide.

- Show a deep understanding of relevant data sources, tools and systems.
- Use appropriate approaches for verifying and validating data and analysis.
Tech Stack:
- Solid maths background, as well as experience doing basic analysis mathematically via simple tools like Excel or Matla.
- Realise this ask might seem obvious or really basic, but I need to filter out analysts that are good at visualisation but weaker on the foundational understanding and actual ground math needed to pull the right data and context to make those visualisations possible.
- Python/PySpark programming to crunch data.
- SQL or similar query-language knowledge.
- Working with data platforms and specifically doing analysis work via data platform notebooks (Jupyter is probably most common, but otherwise, Databricks).
- Ability to create data pipelines (via platform tools or simply via notebooks, depending on platform).
- AWS knowledge (not certs, but comfortable navigating and working with that platform should the team need support for checking things or basic admin. This is something we can maybe upskill the person on, but they need to be up for pushing themselves in addition to what we can do on the ground).
- Databricks experience is really valuable.
- PowerBI is a plus, potentially a must have depending on client decisions/pivots.
- MongoDB is also a plus.
Benefits:
- Join a rapidly expanding start-up where personal growth is a part of our DNA.
- Benefit from a flexible work environment focused on deliverable outcomes.
- Receive private medical insurance through Aviva.
- Enjoy the benefits of a company pension plan through Nest.

- A highly collaborative and collegial environment with opportunities for career advancement.
- Be encouraged to take bold steps and embrace a mindset of experimentation.
- Choose your preferred device, PC or Mac.

- By taking these steps, we are dedicated to building a workplace that reflects and celebrates the diversity of our employees and communities.
This role at Amber Labs is a permanent position, and all employees are required to meet the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Please be advised that, at this time, we are unable to consider candidates who require sponsorship or hold a visa of any type. What Happens Next?
