Your new job role is working or a facilities management company that provides a range of services to organizations, helping them manage and maintain their buildings, infrastructure, and operational needs. They offer a broad spectrum of facilities management solutions, which may include areas such as maintenance, cleaning, security, energy management, and compliance services.
Design and specify HVAC systems for new buildings or renovation projects based on client requirements and regulatory standards.
Oversee the installation of HVAC systems, ensuring they are implemented according to the design and manufacturer specifications.
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering teams to integrate HVAC systems into building plans.
Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in HVAC systems, including refrigeration, air conditioning, and ventilation components.
Ensure systems are running at peak efficiency and recommend upgrades or adjustments to improve performance.
Stay up to date with emerging technologies in HVAC systems, such as smart controls and energy-efficient solutions, and suggest improvements where applicable.
Ensure HVAC systems meet all local building codes, health and safety standards, and environmental regulations.
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of HVAC system regulations, including refrigerant handling, venting, and air quality standards.
Provide expert advice and recommendations to clients on HVAC system performance, system upgrades, and energy-saving measures.
Provide training to clients or internal teams on HVAC system maintenance and best practices.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory.
Prepare detailed reports on system conditions, repairs completed, and performance assessments.
Document any modifications or improvements made to HVAC systems and provide recommendations for future maintenance.
Respond to urgent repair requests during off-hours or in emergency situations.
Troubleshoot and resolve HVAC system failures quickly to restore service and ensure the safety and comfort of building occupants.

Proven experience as an HVAC Engineer or Technician with hands-on experience in the design, installation, and maintenance of HVAC systems.
In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, including air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, and ventilation.
Relevant technical qualifications, such as an NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent certification in HVAC engineering.
Knowledge of HVAC industry regulations and safety standards.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
Good communication skills and the ability to interact with clients, contractors, and team members.
Additional certifications in specialized HVAC areas (e.g., air handling units, advanced refrigeration). (Experience with energy management systems and energy-efficient HVAC technologies. (Valid driver's license (for field-based positions).
