This is a new role within FoDOCS and will support the enhancement of the research environment for staff and PGR students.
Working closely with the Dean for Research and Dean for People and Culture you will support the faculty in achieving its strategic goal to foster a more open, positive, inclusive and supportive workplace environment.
As Research Culture Support Manager you will create clear ownership, expertise and accountability for the delivery of initiatives and improvements to the culture of the faculty. You will support events and research initiatives including the faculty's annual research away day and be a key part of the faculty research support team.
You will also be a point of contact for any staff or PhD students within the faculty wishing to discuss matters or concerns in confidence, including issues relating to bullying & harassment or research integrity.
This post will be offered on an fixed term contract for 3 years
This is a full-time post - 100% full time equivalent
Support the faculty's research culture strategy and related ED&I work
• Be a champion for positive cultural initiatives within the faculty and ensure coordination with university-wide strategies in research culture and equality, diversity & inclusion
• Identify, develop and disseminate case studies of best practice in positive workplace culture
• Build relationships with academic, research and professional service teams across the faculty and wider university
• Support the roll out and dissemination of relevant training and guidance
• Develop and promote community building activities for staff and students
• Lead on the organisation of a range of staff and student events to celebrate and promote open research activities and a positive workplace environment
• Provide quantitative and qualitative analysis of key data for senior stakeholders within the faculty
• Support with ED&I statements and faculty submissions to external bodies
• To be familiar with King's policies and procedures in order to provide advice and guidance to those seeking support
• Participate in, and where appropriate support, relevant committees across the faculty and university
• Support internal and external communications where appropriate
Awareness and understanding of Research Culture within a HE context
Experience of gathering, analysing, and interpreting quantitative and/or qualitative data, undertake desktop research and report writing
Ability to distill and explain complex policies and procedures
Experience of statistical data analysis software
A demonstrable commitment to equality, diversity & inclusion
Willingness to undertake training as necessary to carry out the role
Having worked in a research and/or higher education environment
