The Role

This is a highly visible role in the Product & Transformation function. You will be at the forefront of helping evolve our ways of working, acting as a change agent to motivate and influence Colleagues from across the business.

The role requires an outcome focused individual with a real passion for problem solving. You will need the ability to take complex information, simplify it, and communicate it in a way that will inspire Colleagues to deliver the strategic objectives that you will be instrumental in defining and planning.

You must bring energy and expertise, acting as a strategic thought partner whilst bringing method, structure and creating alignment.

You need to be someone who isn’t afraid to push boundaries and who champions a growth mindset. Above all else, the role demands someone who is passionate about ensuring the voice of the customer is heard and represented as we strive to deliver best-in-class products and capabilities.

The Team

Telecoms in the UK is going through a once in a generation transition from copper to fibre. The Product & Transformation Leadership Team is at the heart of ensuring this is a success, enabling teams to find innovative ways to solve customer problems with products that are simple, affordable, reliable and fair.

With ambitious plans to transform how our products are developed, this team is pivotal in delivering our strategic plan.

Role Expectations

As Planning Manager & Performance Manager for Product and Transformation you will be accountable for:

  • Co-ordinating and facilitating the Business Planning process with all Business Units, ensuring we are prioritising the delivery of the right products that are fit for market, solve our customers problems and deliver on our strategic objectives.

  • Lead the quarterly business review process across product and transformation

  • The creation, development and continuous improvement and updating of an outcome focused Consumer Product Roadmap, providing clarity on the discovery and delivery work across our product families and Business Units. Accountable for clear plan and management to ensure complete transparency (meaning multiple-touchpoints) of this dynamic roadmap across the business through working closely with other Business Managers and Internal Comms teams.

  • Work with I&A team to develop and then oversee the management of an efficient work management process (day-to-day) and the ceremonies to support this, also the I&A strategic project roadmap which will support Group’s strategic objectives.

  • Creating, circulating and maintaining a ‘birds eye view’ of the performance of the department, facilitating the unblocking of issues and challenges through analysis and excellent interpersonal relationships.

  • Collaborating with our HR Business Partner and Heads of Department to deliver Colleague engagement strategies that will improve our eNPS, and make Product and Transformation a great place to work

  • Ensuring our products and processes are compliant with our legal and regulatory responsibilities, making sure any risks raised are managed correctly through the company Risk Registers, and that the Team is aware of their accountabilities day-to-day and within any improvement action plan.

  • Facilitating the strategic goal setting process for the Business Unit, creating alignment and engagement around measurable stretching Objectives, and ensuring these are transparent, visible, of a high standard and constantly reviewed.

  • Owning, implementing and co-ordinating the Governance Framework(s) to provide an active oversight of activity across the Business Unit. This includes (but is not limited to) key recurring forums and meetings, RACI models and process documentation.

  • Evangelising about our strategy, finding ways to articulate this through comms and engagement plans in a way that galvanises the Business Unit.

  • Work with the Agile transformation lead to facilitate learning capabilities identified across the organisation as the business transitions to a true agile delivery framework

  • Provide oversight and governance, supporting the Product Director for capabilities required by Platform X to enable the product team to achieve its objectives
