Buyer (Permanent)

One of our key clients is looking for a buyer to join their team in South Liverpool. A house builder with some ambitious but very realistic growth plans, and a culture that isn't typical of the sector. The role will be but not limited to the following Procurement of all Plant and materials required for house building and civils projects to ensure they are provided on time and within allocated budgets. Ensuring the profitability of contracts by purchasing or sourcing of all Plant and materials in a cost-effective manner. Sourcing of appropriate and adequate Plant and materials for 6 busy social housing projects across North West England and North Wales, from groundworks to super-structure, including procurement and purchase of all Sub-Contractor materials. Negotiation with Suppliers to agree payment terms, resolve invoice queries and to reduce Plant and materials costs where possible with fixed price rates across a wide range of products. Daily liaison with Plant suppliers regarding breakdown issues, sustainable features, on & off-hire of Plant within allocated timescales and fuel monitoring KPI’s. Making best use of any surplus materials across projects to reduce waste, avoid damage and reduce costs to the projects. Liaison with Stakeholders at all levels to ensure all procurement aspects of the Construction Projects are dealt with efficiently and effectively, through Tender stages, Construction Phases and Handover to Client. Ad-hoc Administration and office duties. This role qualifies for a 10% yearly bonus as well as benefitting from an outstanding environment, and a better work / life balance than is typically the case in the market
