Reporting to the Head of Visual Merchandising Development and supporting the Head Of VM Development you will be responsible for implementing and achieving the department operating plan to develop and deliver all menswear visual merchandising, styling, ways to wear and layouts.

You will oversee the delivery of all Menswear company guidelines in line with the critical path. Provide hands on support where required to VM Field Teams/stores during layouts as well as providing coaching and training to individuals.

Accountable for:

  • Development and Maintenance of the Brand styling identity across Men’s.
  • Lead and deliver on all Head Office & VC department projects, refits, rack ups, window dressing and new product launches across menswear.
  • Lead the VM field team/stores to implement the men’s company windows dressings and merchandise layouts to standards expected along with offering in the moment coaching and training.
  • Work with relevant HO teams/VM Field/Retail to deliver all information for all visual communications.
  • Minimise costs by ensuring effective and efficient use of all resources.

Responsibilities:

MARKET AWARENESS:

  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the RI Brand identity and customer profile across all markets. Demonstrate good use of this knowledge in decisions made and actions taken.
  • Guide/direct and support the PDS to understand the RI Brand guidelines/customer profiles and fashion market activity/current fashion trends/visual display techniques/competitor activity and the relevant multi-media shopping channels.
  • Ensure the PDS source/research the necessary information required on fashion trends/styling, so they are fully informed always of the latest developments & trends.

STRATEGIC:

  • Supports the HOVMD on developing menswear visual merchandising/ styling/mannequin/ layouts & guides that will generate sales and reinforce the Brand values.
  • Provide ideas and suggestions to develop the menswear visual standards.
  • Build relationships with key Buying floor people.
  • Following the critical path to deliver the relevant guidelines in line with operating plan for Retail & VC.
  • Visit model stores/competitors/research looking for opportunities to improve menswear visual merchandising.
  • Motivate, inspire, coach & develop the VMS/VDS to create and deliver visual merchandising and display objectives.
  • Clearly communicate the Basic Principles of VM fixtures and equipment.

PLANNING AND RESOURCING:

  • Plan so there is enough communication resource available to put together.
  • Strategic and forward planning mindset to identify any possible shortfalls within the operating plan.
  • Effective planning to ensure the right communication resources are available to issue the guides with the necessary timeframes.

TEAM AND SELF DEVELOPMENT:

  • Lead by example – look for ways to motivate, inspire and engage the PDT & VM Field Team.
  • Take ownership of personal development by identifying training needs and discussing with Line Manager.
  • Consistently look for new ways of working and opportunities to learn, including developing personal visual, creative and management skills.

COMMUNICATION:

  • Communication is clear and concise, delivered to the relevant people, at the appropriate times using the appropriate medium and correct etiquette.
  • Deliver feedback in a structured format, in a timely manner, to the relevant people.
  • Contribute to VM calls & Team meetings.

VISITS:

  • Visit layout stores regularly to review and decide if any action is required on communication to the stores.
  • Regular visits to flagships and model stores.
  • Support on all new and refitted stores.
