Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) is delivered by experienced, registered health care practitioners. It is a level of practice characterised by a high degree of autonomy and complex decision making. This is underpinned by a master's level award or equivalent that encompasses the four pillars of clinical practice, leadership and management, education, and research, with demonstration of area specific clinical competence.

Solent NHS Mental Health service line currently has one ACP vacancy, for a professional from a nursing or AHP background, to deliver an advanced level of clinical practice within our adult psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU).

The successful applicant will work within a multi-professional team, including nurse consultant, medics, nurses, support workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers and more to ensure that patients receive well rounded, holistic care to the highest standard.

Main duties of the job

- Masters level qualification in Advanced Practice or the completion of the e-portfolio route

- Applicants must hold an NHSE 'Advanced' Digital Staff Badge

- Applicants must be an independent and supplementary prescriber

- Applicant must have significant experience or working within psychiatric inpatient services and PICU experience would be advantageous

About us

We have been working with other local NHS Trusts to create a new organisation, bringing together all community, mental health and learning disability services from across Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Subject to approvals, the aim is for the new Trust to be formed by July 2024.Project Fusion is the name for the programme to create the new combined NHS Foundation Trust. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust will be bringing the services into a single organisation will result in more consistent care, more equitable access to services irrespective of postcode, and a more sustainable workforce and services. TUPE is a legal process to ensure you transfer out of one organisation and into another, maintaining the terms and conditions of your employment.

Essential


  • Registered Professional
  • Educated to Masters' degree level in Advanced Practice
  • Evidence of post registration development in autonomous practice/clinical skills (e.g Masters/ACP Masters/PG Cert/PGradDip)
  • Non-medical prescribing qualification & /or evidence of qualification in prescribing specialist equipment, care, therapies, lifestyle advice and care
  • HEE Digital Staff badge demonstrating ACP accreditation with The Centre for Advancing Practice

Desirable


  • Experience of advanced clinical practice at 7/8 level in relevant clinical speciality
  • Experience of a senior professional role in relevant clinical speciality
  • Experience of working in partnership with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience of research and implementation of EBP in relevant clinical speciality

  • Experience of teaching at post graduate level/HEI
  • Experience of analysis and reporting of data
  • Experience of developing and implementing evidence-based practice
  • Experience of implementing complex change in a clinical setting
