Our Doncaster team supports our customers through maintenance and operation optimisation with customised solutions for spare parts, repair, and overhaul activities on existing trains.
Role:Mechanical Engineer
Salary:£Competitive
Location:Doncaster (On-site)
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 08:00am to 16:30pm,
Friday 08:00am to 13:00pm
Permanent, Full-Time
Annual Leave:25 days plus bank holidays (plus 8 bank holidays)
How will you make a difference?To provide mechanical engineering expertise to engineering and project teams delivering rail vehicle enhancement projects and component overhaul services.
What will your typical day look like?- Produce designs, including but not limited to, design layouts, engineering drawings, and schematics.
- Review engineering drawings and documents.
- Provide risk evaluation, assessment, and mitigation evidence for mechanical safety hazards.
- Support investigations into failures of mechanical systems and components, determine root cause, and present findings.
- Determine and submit cost estimates for undertaking in-house and bought-in engineering services.
- Interface with external and internal customers on engineering project progress and issues.
Degree: Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent).
Experience: Working in design or commissioning and maintenance of mechanical systems or components.
Experience: In the specification, design, testing, maintenance, and failure investigation of mechanical systems and components.
Experience: In the use of Mechanical CAD systems.
