Interim Governance Manager

Governance Officer – 1 year contract (East London or Essex) £40,500 – £45,000 (London)
£Hybrid working- 3 days working in the school.
We are seeking a highly organised and knowledgeable Governance Officer to support effective governance across one of our clients, a Multi-Academy Trust. This role provides professional advice to the Central Federation Board (CFB) and Local Governing Bodies (LGBs), ensures compliance with DfE requirements, and delivers high-quality clerking and administrative support.
Provide expert advice on governance legislation, policy, and best practice.
Maintain governance records, statutory information, and compliance checks (e.g., GIAS, website requirements).
Manage governor appointments, elections, succession planning, and training logs.
Clerk CFB, committee, LGB, and statutory panel meetings (including some evenings).
The ideal Governance Officer:
Strong understanding of school or academy governance. (Able to interpret policy and legislation and provide clear, concise advice.
