"Find your role" The Talent Acquisition Manager for Operations plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the recruitment strategy across our diverse business areas, including stores, depots, healthcare teams, and Express sites. This position leads end-to-end hiring for a 24/7 operation, ensuring we attract, engage, and retain the best talent at every level from senior leadership to hourly colleagues. The role is responsible for creating a consistent, scalable recruitment plan that aligns with business priorities, workforce planning, and compliance requirements. Acting as a strategic partner to operational leaders, the Talent Acquisition Manager drives innovative sourcing strategies, champions diversity and inclusion, and leverages data insights to optimise hiring outcomes. They oversee candidate experience, manage relationships with external partners, and ensure recruitment processes are efficient, fair, and reflective of our brand values. Ultimately, this role ensures that our people strategy supports operational excellence and delivers the talent needed to keep our business moving. Key Responsibilities Lead recruitment strategy for Operations across Retail, Express, ALS, Food Service, and Healthcare. Manage and develop a team of five through regular 1:1s, coaching, and performance support. Partner with senior stakeholders to deliver hiring plans for salaried and hourly roles in a 24/7 operation. Drive fulfilment by identifying risk areas and leading proactive recruitment campaigns. Oversee high-profile projects and organisational change initiatives (e.g., restructures, integrations). Design and deliver recruitment for new roles at scale, including job specs, adverts, and assessment processes. Manage senior-level recruitment and talent mapping to build diverse pipelines and reduce agency reliance. Own compliance processes (e.g., Ban the Box, agency audits) and ensure governance across all business areas. Monitor talent pools and succession risks, providing insight and solutions to stakeholders. Collaborate with media partners and internal teams to optimise advertising, branding, and candidate experience. Manage the neutral vend partner to the business, including governance reviews, business area spend, peak performance and much more. Essential Skills "Let's find out about you" Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a team. Experience designing and delivering recruitment strategies for high-volume and senior-level roles. Skilled in identifying, engaging, and securing top-tier talent for critical leadership and specialist roles. Leveraging advanced sourcing techniques, market mapping, and competitor analysis to target passive candidates. Demonstrated ability to build trust and influence senior professionals, ensuring a seamless candidate experience and successful placements in highly competitive markets. Strong influencing and relationship-building skills with senior leaders. Ability to manage complex, high-profile projects and organisational change initiatives. Skilled in using insights and analytics to optimise recruitment outcomes. Understanding of employment legislation, audit processes, and diversity initiatives (e.g., Ban the Box). Vendor & Budget Management – Experience managing third-party suppliers, neutral vend partners, contracts, and significant recruitment spend. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to work cross-functionally. Ability to respond quickly to operational challenges and deliver proactive solutions. Familiarity with ATS systems, recruitment technology, and continuous improvement practices. Ideally you will have previous experience of working within retail, logistics or manufacturing recruitment.
