A multi-strategy hedge fund, launching a new ‘delta 1 trading’ business, are looking to make an established operations / trade support hire ahead of the launch.
The hire, reporting directly into the Portfolio Manager, will manage collateral movements + own the cash management & stock settlements processes. This extends to handling all settlement issues with brokers & cashflow with multiple counterparties. Whilst the role initially has a core focus on settlements, it will transition into a more front office focused role, with a stronger focus handling trading queries in live time, agreeing pricing with counterparties, buying and selling basket securities and entering into swap derivatives with A1 listed brokers. The transition is possible as we expect the hire to be supervising 1-2 juniors, that will run the core ops piece, as the business builds-out.
We are flexible on level of experience, but the ideal candidate will have 5-10yrs operations experience, from Hedge Fund, IB and/or brokerage backgrounds. Candidates from an equities delta one, equity financing or clearing background are favoured. A depth of knowledge in margin & collateral is required. Communication style, dealing with the street from day one, and the ability to work in the front office are key – there is a heavy emphasis on relationship management in the role.
This is a key hire for a new launch business - my client is committed to offering the successful candidate an attractive step-up on current base salary. As the hire is part of the FO bonus pool, a large % of base can be realised as a bonus for a top performer.
The hire has the option to work a 3 day office / 2 day WFH model should they wish to.
