Our client is a manufacturer of Flexible Transit Packaging Solutions / Pallet Wrap, through a competent team of industry specialists and a versatile range of high-quality stretch film, manufactured in state-of-the-art facilities. Innovation, Performance and Efficiency are key characteristics, well implemented in the brand's identity, ensuring they are the right partner for bringing and maintaining optimised results in industrial applications within various markets, driving sustainable value creation for its customers.

Reporting to Sales Director UK & Ireland, the Business Development Manager will be responsible to develop new business opportunities within the tertiary packaging sector and promote the company as a leading supplier of stretch film (pallet wrap) solutions, via direct sales to end-users or distribution channel partners in UK and Ireland.

You will work closely with other departments to achieve agreed objectives for the product category of stretch film to grow the company's presence in the UK and Ireland.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Translate customer needs into business strategy to capture commercial sales.
  • Recognise and pursue new market segments and opportunities for business development.
  • Plan, manage and control sales development to achieve agreed sales margin, sales volume and product mix objectives.
  • Effectively support the customer base with personal visits on-site, establishing favourable relationships with prime decision makers and providing them with comprehensive solutions.
  • Monitor market development activities to align with company business goals.
  • Collate data on market conditions, competition activities, strategies, prices, and any technical advances made, ensuring that all relevant persons within the organisation are informed.
  • Liaise closely with internal sales and colleagues in other departments.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision.
  • Prepare and submit annual sales plans, weekly/monthly visit forms, 3-month sales forecast, sales pipeline and market/competition status reports.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Required Skills:

  • Degree educated or similar qualifications in Business, Engineering, or similar fields.
  • A proven track record of a minimum 5 years in new business development and account management within packaging industry or related industrial sector.
  • Commercial awareness and strong negotiation skills.
  • Self-driven, able to work autonomously.
  • Strong team player and able to perform in matrix organisations with multi-disciplinary teams.
