Accountancy Accounts Assistant

Applicants must be detail-oriented and organized as you are responsible for various accounting tasks and financial services. The ideal candidate will be and have experience with accounting software such as Sage, Excel and various bespoke systems.

Duties:

• Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of financial transactions.
• Assist with accounts payable processes, including P&L, invoice processing and payment reconciliation, monthly VAT returns and bank reconciliation.
• Prepare management accounts under the direction of the Group Financial Controller.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
• Support the finance team with ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned
• Monthly sales listing spreadsheet including cost of sale analysis
• Various monthly nominal ledger journals
• Assist with prepayment and accrual journals
• Debtor analysis reports for head of sales and service departments
• Monthly insurance, warranty and breakdown product invoicing and preparation of Bordeaux spreadsheet
• Calculation of weekly commission statements of our team of sales representatives

Skills:

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective organizational and time management skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Competitive salary paid monthly in arrears by BACS. Full time working hours of 9am to 5.30pm, 5 days per week. Auto enrol pension scheme after a 3 month probationary period, Free parking, 28 days annual holiday (includes bank holidays).
