Our client, a leading provider of general contracting, fit-out, M&E (Mechanical and Electrical), design, and manufacturing services, is seeking a skilled Estimator to join their dynamic team. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, our client delivers tailored solutions to meet the diverse needs of their clientele.
As the Estimator, you will play a critical role in the pre-construction phase, responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with construction projects. Your keen attention to detail, analytical skills, and industry knowledge will be instrumental in ensuring the profitability and success of our client's projects.
Project Evaluation: Review project specifications, drawings, and other documents to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements and scope.
Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services based on project plans and specifications.
Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Solicit and evaluate quotations from vendors and subcontractors, negotiating prices and terms to secure the best value for the project.
Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed cost analysis, identifying cost drivers, potential cost savings, and areas of risk or uncertainty.
Value Engineering: Collaborate with the project team to explore value engineering opportunities, offering alternative solutions or materials to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
Engage with clients and project stakeholders to address inquiries, provide clarification on cost-related matters, and build positive relationships.
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
Sound knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
