GBP 7264 Corporate Engagement Graduate Business Partner

Job Summary - The Communications and Engagement team at East Devon District Council (EDDC) are looking for a graduate to support them with external communications and engagement with residents’, tenants, visitors, and businesses. This will involve producing a communications plan, and coordinating various promotions and communications in newsletters, the website, and social media. This role will provide you with a unique set of skills which could progress into other roles in government and social policy, research, project coordination and management and team management. The role is part of the Graduate Business Partnership (GBP) scheme and offers a full-time contract for 12 months. You will be employed by the University of Exeter and seconded to EDDC for the duration. There will be a hybrid working arrangement with 1-2 days per week required in their Honiton office. About You – You should be a graduate who has good communication skills and an ability to explain complex issues in a simple manner, has good note taking, attention to detail and interpretation skills, and excellent IT skills, in particular experience of manipulating data in Excel. You should have the ability to analyse problems to understand root causes and design and test systematic solutions, the ability to collect,analyse and interpret data, and be problem focused.You should have the ability to demonstrate a keenness to understand the issues faced by local residents’, tenants, businesses and visitors, be able to manage and cope with change, be motivated to improve outcomes for communities, and be flexible and adaptable in the face of unexpected circumstances. You should have confidence and tact to develop effective working relationshipsrepresenting East Devon District Councilwith partners and stakeholders from a range of backgrounds andorganisations, and have the ability to agree, organise and deliver a realistic workload, resolving conflicting priorities where needed. You should have knowledge of community development and engagement techniques, and of law in relation to consultation and data protection, and have experience in data inputting and using social media as a promotional and communications tool.
