We have an opportunity for an Associate Geo-Environmental Engineer.
As a consultancy of approximately 1,600 staff, we are large enough to work on high-profile schemes across the island of Ireland. We provide geo-environmental site investigation services to a wide range of clients, both in the public and private sector.
We are looking for Associate grade Geo-Environmental engineers who have experience of projects across a diversity of sectors, with the confidence to liaise directly with both clients and stakeholders, and who have a desire to support our growing profile. Those with experience of authoring and reviewing factual and interpretive geotechnical reports and those who hold a degree in Environmental Science, Engineering Geology are encouraged to apply.
Our Geo team undertakes a diverse range of projects across various sectors to deliver geo-environmental consultancy services backed up by in-house ground investigation services.
The successful candidate will become a member of this busy team delivering focused solutions for our growing key client base, with emphasis on technical excellence, client care and effective project management. He or she will be working alongside other land contamination, environmental due diligence, ground investigation, groundwater and geo-technical specialists to deliver holistic solutions to clients' needs in these areas. Additionally, the successful candidate will be collaborating with geo-environmental teams in other offices and with other specialists in the planning, environment, and engineering teams.
We anticipate the role will require approximately 50% of your time to be site-based and 50% to be office-based, but this may vary as workload dictates. You will hold a degree in geology, engineering geology, hydrogeology, or relevant environmental science discipline. Whilst not essential, it would be beneficial for you to have a post-graduate qualification such as a Master's degree.
You will have postgraduate industry experience and an understanding of current contaminated land technical guidance and the development planning regime.
You must have experience of, and be confident in, planning, managing, and supervising ground investigation on site, including groundwater and ground gas monitoring, and have the skills and knowledge to interpret data. SMSTS, SSSTS, CSCS, etc.).
You must be able to produce Phase 1 geo-environmental desk top study reports incorporating preliminary risk assessment and Phase 2 interpretative reports including qualitative and quantitative risk assessments.
You must have a good understanding of health, safety, and environmental management and possess a full, preferably clean, driving license.
