We are looking for a  Health and Safety and HR Coordinator to support our drainage business group. A leading Drainage and Civil Engineering firm in the Midlands, our mission is to deliver the highest standards in H&S and Human Resources to ensure the company meets all its business objectives and continually promotes a positive health and safety culture while complying with all applicable legal requirements.
This is predominantly an office based role which will see the successful candidate working closely with both employees and clients from our depots in the Midlands and London. This role is supported by an external agency for ongoing professional H&S and HR advice and support.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and passionate HR and H&S individual who wants a stimulating, hands on role with plenty of scope for growth and projects.

Project management and the regular monitoring of systems will be a significant feature of the role therefore you should have some project management experience, love detail and be a fantastic problem solver.
Updating, maintaining and issuing risk assessments
Manage and coordinate Health and Safety inspections
Ensuring employees receive correct and up-to-date H&S training for all work-related tasks such as jetting and confined space entry
Fire safety systems maintenance
Produce HSQE performance reports as required
Complete site audits, toolbox talks, kit inspections and inventories for company vehicles
Provide professional support and advice to the senior management team and staff on occupational safety, health, environmental and quality matters
Human Resources management
Recruitment
Issuing contracts to contractors and subcontractors
Employee and sub-contractor inductions
Being the first point of contact for employees and line managers regarding any issues they may have, and giving advice, referring to our external HR specialists where necessary
Ensuring legal compliance with the support of external HR specialists
Organising HR paperwork for employees and internal systems

Organising and conducting internal quality system audits
Writing procedures
Report writing
Updating quality system documentation
Enforcing quality standards throughout the business
Project management and problem-solving
Proven experience in health and safety and human resources
NEBOSH General Certificate an advantage
Strong writing ability
