Saint Benedict Catholic Voluntary Academy, part of the St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi Academy Trust are seeking to appoint an exceptional Assistant Headteacher, supportive of the ethos and vision of Catholic Education. The governors are looking for an outstanding and inspirational practitioner who will have a considerable and sustained impact on the pupils across the academy and the ability to build upon our current developments and achievements. Candidates should have a record of effective leadership and innovation at middle management level and be able to evidence their impact on pupil outcomes.
More generally, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to school self-evaluation, development, planning and appraisal. There will be the requirement to attend Governor meetings and you will be expected to attend major school events and play a full part in ensuring the efficient day-to-day running of the Academy.
We are looking for a colleague with the motivation and determination to drive forward school improvement. You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to influence and motivate all members of our school community. You can expect excellent line management, coaching and mentoring from the Headteacher and Deputy Headteachers, and a close and effective working relationship with our existing Assistant Headteachers.
Situated in the beautiful Darley Abbey area on the outskirts of Derby, Saint Benedict is the city’s only Catholic Secondary school. We serve a wonderfully diverse community of students who come from over forty countries around the world and who come from all parts of Derby and beyond.
