As the Principal Consultant for Process Safety and Technical Safety, you will establish the strategic direction for process safety management at Thames Water. You will lead the development and assurance of a comprehensive Process Safety Management System. As an expert in your field, you will collaborate closely with colleagues throughout the organisation to ensure that recognised standards and statutory requirements effectively manage process safety and risk control standards.
You will lead the development and implementation of the process safety management strategy, confirming the accountability and responsibility of appropriate stakeholders for overall successful delivery.
Develop, document, maintain and communicate a process safety management system (process safety leadership, risk identification and assessment, risk management, reviews and improvements) to control the risk of significant process hazards at Thames Water.
Document company standards for hazard studies and risk assessment to identify significant hazards and develop controls to eliminate the risks.
Develop and maintain standards for safety in design, including safety and environmentally critical tasks (including process design, hazardous areas, relief systems, safety instrumented systems, human factors, change management, etc.)
Develop, document, maintain, and communicate a process safety audit framework for the end-to-end asset lifecycle to assure compliance with the process safety management system, including regulatory standards.
Provide guidance and support to the business regarding process safety.
you must attend the office and sites as business needs, but the role will be significantly remote working.
Thirty-six hours a week, Monday to Friday.
Must be a driver and have access to a car; this role does come with a car allowance.
Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent professional experience in a related field.
Proven track record of developing and implementing process safety management policy, standards and procedures.
Competitive salary up to £90,000 per annum.
~ This role will come with a car allowance of £5,800.
~26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service (Plus bank holidays).
