Commercial Pricing Manager

As a Barclays Commercial Pricing Manager, you’ll primarily be responsible for the commercial and pricing management of products covering Savings, Protection and Mortgages, to ensure good business and customer outcomes. You’ll also be assessing the market, variables and creating recommendation options by engaging our stakeholders.

This role will be based from either London, Northampton, Glasgow, Knutsford. We will confirm your place of work at the point of offer, ensuring that this is considered in line with our future ways of working and overall location strategy. The hiring manager for the role will discuss the appropriate defined time in office for the role with you as part of the application process.

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). What will you be doing?
• Defining and leading the development of strategic pricing commercial initiatives to optimise product mix, risk appetite and margin to achieve growth of the product and objectives
• Using effectively insights and analytics to help shape, embed and validate the initiatives being delivered
• Managing critical relationships across key partnerships across Barclays UK to drive income and customer experience improvements 
• Supporting the Portfolio, Pricing & Product Optimisation team with insights and optimisation by working with internal stakeholders such as Analytics, Marketing, Treasury, Risk and Finance 
• Developing and sustaining business relationships by negotiating and collaborating with others including at a senior level and with external third parties. 
• Being responsible for creating and fostering an inclusive environment where colleagues can be their best selves 

What we’re looking for:
• Previous experience in product / commercial / pricing / Profit & Loss management type roles 
• Demonstrable experience in being data led and able to interpret and analyse multiple sources / complexity of data which are then translated into actionable commercial insights
• Sound strategic mindset, being able to translate the ‘here and now’ within the context of ‘the bigger picture’
• Great application and knowledge of adhering to and applying risk and control processes

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Knowledge of retail market: market trends, interest rate movements, and competitive landscape
• Awareness of macro-economics and the role this plays within the context of interest rates and consumer financial banking behaviour
• Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills with the ability to balance diverse stakeholders and influence across all levels
• Astute and ability to understand the dynamics of large, complex organisations and a wide variety of stakeholders

Where will you be working?
In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.

Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997. This state-of-the art energy efficient building holds up to 2,500 staff. The office location is perfect for travel from the midlands and London alike as we are based just off the A45, it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
