ROLE OVERVIEW

Join GRIDSERVE as a Data Product Manager who excels in strategic thinking and analytics, with a particular emphasis on data.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with data teams in the energy or an equivalent sector, and will have helped to define and deliver data products previously.The candidate will be very experienced as a scrum master and managing AGILE continuous delivery. The individual will be Azure literate and have worked with modern “Data Lakehouse” with Azure Synapse Analytics. We expect the person to have worked on real-time Azure projects in various commercial domains. The person will have exposure to modern data tools including Azure Databricks, Cosmos, and data integration technologies. Additional exposure to working with data science teams, and supporting machine learning activity would be highly valued.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be the accountable person for Data as a Product at GRIDSERVE and own the product, data and tracking requirements.
  • Develop strategic product roadmaps and collaborate with the Head of Data to prioritize and deliver product iterations, including MVPs and various product phases (P1, P2, etc.)
  • Work closely with the Lead Data Architect ensuring that the Product Roadmap aligns with the Data Platform Roadmap and evolution, influencing the product roadmap as new platform capabilities such as machine learning and artificial intelligence are introduced
  • Develop the product catalogue, roadmap, backlog, and sprint planning while utilizing scrum, agile, and DevOps methodologies.
  • Demonstrate expertise in business intelligence tools, particularly Power BI, for data-driven decision-making and strategy formulation.
  • Facilitate business engagement and communications, effectively managing and triaging demands, and overseeing delivery control.
  • Deep knowledge of applications within the EV charging and retail domains to enhance product offerings.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, working closely with business stakeholders to extract key issues and collaborating with technical teams to size, triage, and deliver solutions.
  • Utilise various techniques for solving business problems with data, driving insights that inform product development and optimization.
  • Experience in the renewables space, particularly in delivering data products, to innovate within the industry (optional but preferred).
  • Maintain reports, dashboards, and alerting systems to monitor product performance and customer engagement.
  • Strong data insights, analytics, and reporting to inform product strategy and development.
  • Work with senior business teams to ensure product alignment with organizational key results (OKRs).
  • Create Agile product elements such as features, epics, and stories, with a focus on data-driven initiatives.
  • Work effectively with all levels of stakeholders, gathering diverse points of view to shape and manage product requirements.
  • Solid background in data with practical knowledge of SQL and either Python or R.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes including anti-bribery policy and Environmental and Quality Management System (compliant with ISO 9001 and 14001).

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Required skills and experience

  • Significant experience of working in the data domain in technical roles
  • Experience in product management, ideally with a focus on data products
  • Stron track record of managing product lifecycles in a data-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with BI tools, such as Power BI.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficient in SQL and at least one of the following: Python or R
  • Knowledge with EV charging systems, retail applications, and renewable energy products is a plus.
  • Azure certification Is a plus.
  • Exposure to non-Azure technologies and familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of a spectrum of BigData and Streaming technologies.
  • Experience with Data Science and ML teams.
  • Experience with the Azure cloud-based data frameworks
  • Experience of cloud based data warehouses.

Required qualifications and certifications

  • Microsoft Dynamics Certifications or other relevant ERP platforms
  • AgilePM, Managing Successful Programmes or PRINCE2 certifications
