Global Head of Development (Solar & BESS)

EEW Eco Energy World (‘EEW’), founded by entrepreneur Svante Kumlin is an independent global pure-play renewable energy projects developer, historically focusing on utility-scale solar photovoltaic (‘PV’) projects, having expanded recently to solar plus battery storage systems (‘BESS’) projects and currently also targeting servicing the green hydrogen industry. Since 2012, EEW has developed 22 solar PV projects totalling approximately 1.6 GW across UK, Australia and Spain.

With solar forecasted to increase 20 times within the next 30 years and renewable energy to contribute 90% of all world energy by 2050, we are well positioned to capitalise on this growth. What you will do

EEW is currently seeking a Global Head of Development to lead our dynamic team based in London and coordinate development activities in four additional countries: Spain, Italy, Sweden and Australia. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in guiding the development teams, shaping business strategies, and ensuring the successful execution of projects in the renewable energy sector.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and guide the development teams in all countries.
  • Implement effective coordination strategies for seamless collaboration and conduct regular team reviews to provide constructive feedback.
  • Regularly report development activities, progress, and challenges to the top management, maintaining clear communication lines with international teams to offer valuable insights during strategic planning sessions.
  • Develop and execute business strategies customized for the market conditions and regulatory landscapes of each country, ensuring synergy with the company's vision.
  • Implement and monitor KPIs for team and project performance. Conduct periodic strategy reviews to identify areas for enhancement and adjustment in line with evolving market conditions.
  • Build and maintain an extensive business network with partners crucial for project development in different regions.
  • Negotiate and manage co-development agreements, supporting due diligence processes before acquiring projects or pipelines.
  • Support companys' M&A activities.

Experience and background required:

  • Degree-qualified with +5 years’ experience in solar, BESS, wind or other power generation sectors.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with the development process of renewable energy projects.
  • Strong understanding of solar technology and its impact on project feasibility and performance.
  • Successfully managed and aligned international teams, ensuring consistency in operations and achieving collective goals

General skills:

  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to relate to all levels and demonstrated experience in building relationships across a broad range of key stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage workloads, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • High degree of independence and integrity.
  • Flexibility to travel and work at assigned locations is required.
