Band 7 People Partner

Birmingham, United Kingdom University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust Full time

As a Trust we are Birmingham and Solihull's largest employer, with 24,000+ permanent staff and 6,000+ on our internal staff bank. Without our people, we would be unable to deliver the first-class care to our patients in the community and within our 4 main hospitals.

Led by our Chief People Officer, the People Directorate is the epicentre of employee relations and organisational development. We provide a partnership service to all managers on policy and procedures and are proud of our person-focused and fair approach. Recognising the importance of this department, we are expanding our People team across the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with the creation of a Band 7 People Partner role.

We are seeking a People Partner with the enthusiasm and ambition to match ours. It is an exciting time to join the Trust with opportunity to make an impact through the introduction of new and improved ways of working whilst framing your personal career aspirations for growth and development.

You will be solutions focused and passionate about leading a team, supporting them to reach their full potential and coaching them in dealing with cases which are difficult and sensitive. You will be able to demonstrate an expert knowledge in the field of employee relations, showing evidence of keeping up to date with legislative changes and maintaining your continuous professional development. You will be innovative, team-focused, and able to demonstrate how you follow the just culture principles in your approach.

Main duties of the job

You will first and foremost be focused on the individual rather than process, whilst ultimately ensuring that patient care is protected and upheld. You will also be keen to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple conflicting demands and pressures, whilst continuing to provide leadership to the team and managing a caseload of complex HR issues.

As a flexible employer, UHB can offer hybrid working to include cross site and home with hours of work to suit service delivery and a healthy work-life balance.

The primary base for this role will be at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where regular attendance on site is required, however travel will be required across all the Trust sites including Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull as well as home working.

Please note the interviews will take place in person on Monday 23 December 2024 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

Interested? Please contact Chloe Bishop, Senior People Partner via email on chloe.bishop@uhb.nhs.uk to ask any questions or to arrange an informal chat to discuss this great opportunity.
