About The Role

At GÉANT we enable research, education, science and innovation across the globe via our high-speed data communications networks and identity and access management solutions. Our Core AAI Platform supports e-science and student mobility at the European and International level, enabling millions of users to access critical research and educational services and resources. In this new role, you will collaborate with a cross functional team of Technical Leads, Solutions Architects, Engineers and Developers to analyse customer requirements and support the design, development and implementation of authentication and authorisation solutions for academic customers.

You will translate requirements into prioritised feature requests that support the incremental build of technical solutions, monitoring each implementation to successful conclusion. You’ll act as product manager for features and capabilities, prioritising requirements, developing roadmaps and related backlog. You’ll also need to break down comprehensive solution designs into smaller increments based on minimum viable product and planned enhancements of value-based functionality/additional features following successful implementation of the MVP.

We’re looking for someone to work from our Amsterdam office so you’ll need to have the right to work in the Netherlands as well as live within commuting distance of the office. This is a hybrid working role so you will need to spend at least two days in the office each week. The role will be offered as a 1-year definite contract, with the possibility of becoming indefinite thereafter.

About You

You must have demonstrable experience of implementing solutions tailored to customers’ requirements gained working in a software environment. Strong organisational and time management skills are essential as is the ability to manage multiple activities, define project timelines and ensure timely delivery.

You’ll also need to have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams
  • Capacity to make informed decisions based on technical considerations
  • Proven ability to understand complex technical systems, bridging the gap between technical teams and requirements and business objectives

Key to this role is a self-starter attitude and the ability to find a balance between working on your own initiative and collaborating within the team in order to solve problems and reach consensus. Your role will be a critical part of the success of the Core AAI Platform, and it, contributing ideas and effort in order to reach a shared goal.
