An exciting opportunityhas arisen for a passionate, innovative and motivated bank health visitor tojoin our mixed skilled 0-19 team which forms a part of Children and FamilyHealth Surrey, and help make our service even stronger.

Main duties of the job

If you have a goodunderstanding of children, young people and their families and could deliverthe healthy child programme to the wonderfully diverse population across EastSurrey wed really like to hear from you.

Our health visitors aresupported by our clinical specialists, clinical team leaders, service managersand our safeguarding team to provide excellent professional practice and tofurther develop their skills and knowledge.

Job responsibilities

The post holder is responsible for delivering theHealthy Child Programme. Health Visitors carry continuing responsibility forthe assessment of health needs, including the development, implementation andevaluation of packages of care. To support the development and implementationof processes and audit to improve the delivery of the Healthy Child Programmeto clients within the FCHC area leading to improved childrens health outcomes.To support and line manage skill mix within the 0-19 teams.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Registered General Nurse
  • Health Visitor SCPHN
  • Current NMC registration part 3 register
  • Child protection supervisor
  • Clinical supervision facilitator
Experience
  • Evidence of professional development
  • Experience of initiating and participating in clinical audit and research
  • Evidence of leadership
  • Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience of staff management
Skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Broad range of clinical skills
  • Ability to organise the work load, delegate and prioritise
  • Good knowledge of health and safety risk management
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Teaching, presentation and facilitation skills
Knowledge
  • Good understanding of current community childrens health service issues
  • Knowledge of principles of supervision, audit and research
  • Knowledge of personal style of influencing and application of appropriate style
  • Ability to understand key element of change management in relation to childrens community health services

  • Valid licence to drive in UK with access to a car for business use
