Job Description Shiftbased Engineering Technicians will be on a 3-shift orearlies and lates pattern within the Packing function. Shift basedtechnicians are predominantly assigned to lines and will beresponsible for driving line performance (corrective/breakdownmaintenance and proactive line improvements).
Be a part of the reliabilityimprovement team by working closely with the maintenance planning teamand the production engineering (CI) team to prioritise projects andinitiatives to increase GE and MTBF.
Quality / foodsafety is also paramount, to ensure production targets are met andthat all lines and areas conform to quality standards
Be part of thesite responsible persons team (to include part of the Fire responseteam for siteand electrically trained to a suitable level)
Support and drive packing line format changeovers and identify improvements to reduce the change over time infuture
Be a link between the project and themaintenance team through, for example, implementing new PMs for newequipment and establishing correct spares coverage levels.
Maintain good levels of housekeeping in all areas
Active use of SAP to log breakdown data, correctivesand booking parts out of Stores
Time servedapprenticeship in mechanical, electrical discipline or be multiskilled
Expectation to become fully multi-skilled
Demonstrate good understanding ofrelevant industry standards for Mechanical & Electrical engineering
As part of a small working group the successful applicantwill be expected to be self-motivated, a team player, flexible andprepared to take on a range of responsibilities without the need forsupervision
Knowledge of PLC and HMI programming andassociated networks would be an advantage
