My client is a leading provider in the telecommunications industry, specializing in high-quality installation, maintenance, and repair services for both copper and fiber optic cabling systems. We are committed to delivering exceptional service to our clients and are currently looking to expand our team with skilled Cable Technicians who share our dedication to excellence.

Job Summary:

We are seeking experienced Cable Technicians to join our team on a contract basis. The successful candidates will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing copper and fiber optic cabling systems. This role requires a deep understanding of cabling standards, the ability to troubleshoot complex issues, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic cable systems.
  • Read and interpret schematic diagrams and technical manuals.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of cabling systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Provide detailed reports on installation progress, issues encountered, and work completed.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in copper and fiber optic cabling.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Cable Technician with expertise in both copper and fiber optic cabling.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards (such as TIA/EIA), best practices, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and understand technical blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (e.g., BICSI Technician) preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work in various environments and climb ladders or operate lift equipment as needed.
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
