Study Skills tutor Are you passionate about making a positive impact on university students with additional needs throughout their academic year? As a study skills tutor you will be supporting students one on one within the Chester area who have learning difficulties. Does a flexible job role that works around your schedule sound ideal to you? If so, then Randstad has a job for you Responsibilities: Provide tailored one-to-one support with students you have been assigned to based on their specific learning difficulties Assist students with organisational skills such as, time management, creating action plans to work towards deadlines Help with their research skills by assisting them to access ranges of resources Provide help with writing skills, how to structure their work Encourage students to build on existing strengths so they are able to develop on their independence Behave in a confidential and professional manner at all time with students Work closely with Randstad and ensure any concerns regarding students are communicated immediatelyAs this is a specialist role, it is essential that you have a professional membership with one of the following: The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS) - Full or associate membership British Dyslexia Association (BDA) - Full professional membership The Association of Dyslexia Specialists in Higher Education (ADSHE) - Professional membership Dyslexia Guild Associate Member (ADG) o Associate Member (ADG FE/HE) o Member (MDG)Benefits of being a spld tutor with Randstad: £31.38 per hour (this includes your holiday pay) 'Refer-a-Friend' scheme where you could have a chance of earning £300 in vouchers E-Learning & CPD A dedicated, professional and friendly consultant to guide you through your journey with Randstad Useful video tutorials on how to use our system Flexible working role, hours that suit you and managing your own caseload Hapi App - discounts and benefits on 100's of companies Rewarding roleDesirable Organisational skills - to be able to manage your workload of multiple students to support Be reliable and punctual at all times when having sessions with students Accurate spelling and grammar skills Understandable and patient when working with students Have an understanding on how to use platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams etc Be empathetic and adaptive - understanding how each student is differentIf you meet the requirements for this role and you would like to expand your experience working with people with specialist learning difficulties please be sure to apply for this role Randstad SWS acts as an employment business when supplying temporary staff and as an employment agency when introducing candidates for permanent employment with a client.
